Welcome to the HFT's Special Police Officer Union Chapter 1018D webpage!
This page has been created to assist in establishing a transparent and fluid line of communication of SPO related events and activities in the Hartford Public School System. As our department continues to grow and expand it is important now more than ever keep ourselves well informed and educated. A well informed SPO Union Chapter will not only help keep personnel SAFE but also accountable as we preform our duties to our communities and youth.
SPOs regularly re-directing Hartford students making sure they receive essential services provided by other support personnel such as Social Workers or Behavior Technicians which are a part of creating a positive and safe environment for our youth. When Hartford Public Schools closed in March of 2020 due to the pandemic, SPOs were called back to the City to serve as a response unit to assist and facilitate distribution of essential needs such as Food and Technology through the end of the school year and the end of the summer.
